Do you enjoy working with architects, engineers, owners, and contractors to develop smart, efficient project execution plans? Our client, a rapidly growing specialty design-build contractor, is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead projects from award through handoff to construction. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in delivering highly customized architectural (structural steel, ornamental metals) and glazing projects for high-profile commercial projects across North America. If you enjoy collaborating across departments, managing technical details, identifying risks early, and creating successful project strategies, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
Lead projects through the entire pre-construction process from contract award to construction handoff. Develop project execution plans, schedules, and pre-construction milestones. Coordinate engineering, estimating, procurement, client relations, and operations teams. Review project scope, budgets, pricing, and contracts to ensure successful execution. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies before construction begins. Lead design-assist efforts with owners, architects, consultants, and general contractors. Coordinate shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, procurement activities, and engineering deliverables. Validate constructability, sequencing, dimensions, and installation methods. Support value engineering efforts to maximize project profitability while maintaining quality. Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and project partners. Help improve internal pre-construction processes and best practices.
What We're Looking For:
Experience leading commercial construction projects during the pre-construction phase. Background in design-build, specialty contracting, architectural systems, glazing, or architectural metals. Strong understanding of estimating, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and project planning. Experience coordinating engineering, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining exceptional customer service. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Must have the ability to present to stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Why Join Us?
