Job description:
The Field Supervisor oversees and manages day-to-day installation operations across multiple multifamily projects in the DMV area. This role ensures that subcontractors perform work to company standards, verifies completion prior to payment, and serves as the primary liaison between the field and the office-based Project Coordination team. The position requires independent decision-making, strong organizational skills, and a leadership mindset — managing work performed by others rather than performing hands-on labor. However, limited field or shop work may be required on an as-needed basis.
These duties include:
•
Field Management:
Oversee daily installation activities on multiple job sites to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules. Hands-on involvement in the field or shop, as needed.
•
Quality Control:
Conduct site inspections and enforce company quality standards; identify and resolve issues before they impact schedule or cost.
•
Subcontractor Oversight:
Direct, coordinate, and evaluate subcontractor performance; verify scope completion and quality prior to payment approval.
•
Internal Team Coordination:
Collaborate with Project Coordinators and Project Managers to communicate field progress, schedule updates, and material needs.
•
Scheduling & Planning:
Maintain daily and weekly installation schedules, ensuring manpower and material requirements are met.
•
Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot field issues, propose solutions, and make independent decisions to maintain production flow and quality.
•
Safety Oversight:
Promote and enforce safety policies; ensure subcontractors and internal staff comply with all jobsite requirements.
•
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of field progress, punch lists, and completion reports; submit timely updates to management.
•
Change Management:
Identify field conditions requiring change orders and communicate with the office team to initiate and document changes.
•
Stakeholder Communication:
Represent the company professionally with general contractors, developers, and on-site personnel to maintain productive relationships. Attend onsite meetings as required for project coordination.
•
Material and Logistics Management:
Coordinate material and equipment requirements between the office and subcontractors, ensuring that all teams have the necessary resources to meet project specifications and deadlines. Assist with material handling and movement on-site when necessary.
Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of field experience in construction, millwork, cabinetry, or countertop installation. Proven ability to manage subcontractors and internal crews across multiple job sites. Strong understanding of reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and project plans. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish (verbal and written). Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between job sites in the DMV area. Preferred Qualifications Experience in multifamily construction environments. Knowledge of quality control processes and installation standards for cabinets, countertops, or finish carpentry. Prior supervisory or management experience with authority over scheduling, approvals, or work verification. Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Buildertrend, Monday.com or similar). OSHA certification or equivalent safety training.
