Job Description
Commonsense Housing is seeking a Service Coordinator to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coordinating residential services, supporting staff, and ensuring individuals receive quality, person-centered services that promote choice, independence, dignity, safety, and community involvement. The Service Coordinator is expected to be actively involved in the homes, including providing direct care when needed, supporting staff, and responding to the needs of the individuals we serve. Responsibilities Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to residential staff. Maintain a regular presence in assigned homes and build strong relationships with individuals and staff. Provide direct care and support to individuals as needed. Coordinate and monitor individual service plans, habilitation programs, and services. Participate in ISP and other team meetings and monitor individual progress. Coordinate medical, therapeutic, behavioral, and other professional services. Work collaboratively with families, guardians, case managers, clinicians, and other providers. Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with agency and regulatory requirements. Support staffing, scheduling, training, and day-to-day operational needs. Advocate for individuals and ensure their rights, privacy, and choices are respected. Address concerns and challenges promptly and professionally. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including weekend coverage. Qualifications Valid Maine driver's license. Current DSP certification. Current CRMA certification. Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a leadership team. Comfortable providing direct care and using electronic documentation and computer systems. Ability to meet applicable background and employment requirements. Three years of experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities is strongly preferred. Supervisory, residential, case-management, or service-coordination experience is a plus.
Schedule & Benefits Full-time:
Generally Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, with rotating weekend on-call coverage. Flexibility is required, as residential services operate 24/7. The Service Coordinator will regularly work in the homes and may provide direct care or adjust their schedule when the needs of the individuals or program require it.
