Job Description

Position Overview Ducas Construction is seeking a part-time (~16-24 hours a week) Shop Manager. This position is responsible for keeping the company shop, tools, and equipment organized, maintained, and ready for use. This role handles tool repairs, inventory, vehicle maintenance tracking, and equipment purchasing. It's a great fit for a self-starter who takes pride in a well-run shop and enjoys working independently. Primary Responsibilities Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe, with a clear system so crews can quickly find what they need. Inspect tools and equipment regularly and perform basic repairs and routine maintenance as needed. Arrange outside repair or service for tools and equipment beyond in-house capability. Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies, including tracking items checked out to crews or job sites. Track and schedule vehicle maintenance (oil changes, inspections, registrations, tire rotations, etc.) and coordinate service appointments. Identify when tools or equipment need replacing and order new items. Keep records of purchases, repairs, and maintenance using company software. Communicate with superintendents about equipment needs and availability. Qualifications Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, data entry). Training on our inventory software is provided. Self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision. Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic tool repair preferred. Familiarity with construction tools and equipment is a plus. Forklift Certification is a plus but will be provided. Valid driver's license [and clean driving record]. Ability to lift up to [50] lbs. and perform physical work in a shop environment.
