Project Manager / Estimator - Excavation, Waterproofing & Site Work Alliance Contracting & Design - Bay City, MI Full-Time | Year-Round Position Alliance Contracting & Design is seeking an experienced, dependable Project Manager / Estimator to help manage our day-to-day field operations. We are an established contractor specializing in basement waterproofing, foundation repair, excavation, drainage, landscaping, irrigation, and related site work. This is a hands-on management position for someone who can estimate jobs, communicate with customers, coordinate crews and materials, solve problems in the field, and make sure jobs are completed correctly and profitably. Responsibilities Meet with customers, evaluate projects, take measurements, and prepare accurate estimates Estimate excavation, drainage, waterproofing, landscaping, irrigation, and related projects Schedule and coordinate crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials Review upcoming jobs and ensure materials and equipment are ready before work begins Provide crews with clear, complete job instructions Visit active job sites and verify work is being completed according to the estimate and scope Communicate with customers before, during, and after projects Handle job-site questions, changes, and problems as they arise Maintain accurate job notes, photos, measurements, material quantities, and project documentation Keep our project-management system updated daily Perform final customer walkthroughs and ensure jobs are properly completed and closed out Coordinate completion of punch-list and callback items Monitor labor, material usage, and job profitability Help maintain material inventory and identify items that need to be ordered Hold employees accountable for quality, productivity, attendance, and company procedures Operate trucks, trailers, skid steers, excavators, and other construction equipment when needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of a project from estimate through completion . We are looking for someone who: Has construction, excavation, landscaping, waterproofing, irrigation, or similar field experience Has estimating and/or project-management experience Is organized and able to manage multiple active projects Communicates professionally with customers and employees Can provide clear written instructions and maintain accurate documentation Understands construction measurements, quantities, labor, materials, and job costing Is comfortable using a smartphone and computer-based project-management software Can troubleshoot problems without needing constant supervision Pays attention to details and follows through on commitments Understands that a job isn't finished until the work, paperwork, photos, customer communication, and closeout are complete Is willing to work in the field when necessary rather than managing exclusively from an office Preferred Experience Experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred: Excavation and grading Basement waterproofing Foundation repair Drainage and stormwater work Landscaping Irrigation systems Concrete Skid steer and mini-excavator operation Construction estimating Crew supervision Project scheduling A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. What Success Looks Like We're looking for someone who can be given responsibility for a project and see it through without the owner having to repeatedly follow up . The right person will make sure: The customer knows what's happening. The crew knows what they're doing. The materials are ready. The documentation is complete. The work is done correctly. The job gets closed out and paid.
