Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing & Estimating Manager with 3-5 years of residential construction experience. This role is critical to keeping projects on budget, on schedule, and running smoothly from pre-construction through execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate and detailed project estimates and budgets Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers Manage purchasing of materials and track pricing fluctuations Coordinate and lead trade walks with subcontractors Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with project managers Communicate with trades to ensure scope clarity, timelines, and expectations are met Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality Maintain organized records of bids, contracts, and pricing
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in residential construction estimating and/or purchasing Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing Experience coordinating subcontractors and trade partners Highly organized with strong attention to detail Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Proficiency in estimating and project management software is a plus
