Full-Time Job Overview Diversified Foundations, LLC is an established construction company seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in construction project management or estimating , strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. This individual will play a key role in preparing accurate estimates, developing vendor and subcontractor relationships, preparing bids, and supporting the transition of awarded projects to the Project Management team. Primary Responsibilities Quantity Survey / Take-Off Identify and quantify construction elements from project plans and specifications. Perform accurate quantity take-offs using estimating software. Enter quantity and project data into the estimating system. Understand estimating assemblies and modify them to accommodate unique project requirements. Evaluate construction methods, productivity, and project-specific requirements when developing estimates. Vendors & Subcontractors Identify and develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors. Evaluate vendor and subcontractor capabilities for specific projects. Review scopes of work and proposals to determine the best overall value. Proactively negotiate and work with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing. Evaluate pricing, availability, and project requirements when selecting vendors and subcontractors. Bids & Proposals Prepare complete and accurate project estimates. Assemble quantities and pricing to meet bid form requirements. Review Invitations to Bid (ITB), plans, specifications, and other project documentation. Identify project-specific equipment and incorporate appropriate costs into estimates. Determine the appropriate vendors and subcontractors for each project. Prepare and submit bid forms and proposals. Apply constructability principles, productivity considerations, and value-engineering concepts to estimates. Post-Bid Activities Follow up with clients to confirm receipt of bids and identify potential obstacles to closing projects. Develop and maintain client relationships for current and future opportunities. Collect information on lost bids to monitor competition and market conditions. Track projects through the award process. Maintain communication with clients throughout the post-bid period. Project Transition Coordinate transition meetings with the Project Manager for awarded projects. Transfer pricing, vendor/subcontractor quotes, and other relevant proposal information. Provide the Project Manager with an overview of the project, estimate, and proposal. Communicate the General Contractor's or Owner's schedule and project needs to the Project Manager and field supervision. Identify opportunities for operational and production efficiencies. Qualifications & Requirements 3+ years of related construction estimating or project management experience , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid Driver's License Ability to read, analyze, and interpret: Construction plans and specifications Technical procedures Invitations to Bid (ITB) Government regulations Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to client questions. Strong mathematical skills and understanding of unit production. Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to calculate area and volume. Ability to incorporate safety and OSHA requirements into project estimates. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word and Excel . Proficiency with construction estimating software such as Bluebeam . Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to accuracy. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project managers, field personnel, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
