Unlike a traditional school bus terminal, this location specializes in transporting students with special needs using a fleet of vans and specialized vehicles. You'll oversee approximately 20-30 daily routes , support a dedicated team of drivers and monitors, and work closely with the Shakopee School District, families, and staff to ensure every student receives safe, reliable transportation. What You'll Do Lead the daily operations of our Special Education transportation terminal. Manage approximately 20-30 daily van routes while ensuring safe, efficient service. Hire, train, coach, evaluate, and support drivers and transportation staff. Build route schedules and make adjustments to improve efficiency. Partner with the school district, parents, and staff to resolve transportation concerns. Oversee vehicle maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, school district requirements, drug and alcohol testing, and driver qualifications. Process payroll, billing, accounts payable/receivable, and other administrative functions. Maintain all required safety records and transportation documentation. Respond to transportation issues, emergencies, and weather-related situations. Foster a positive workplace culture focused on safety, teamwork, and customer service.

Computer proficiency, including Google Drive. The ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions. Preferred Qualifications Experience in pupil transportation, logistics, fleet operations, or school transportation. Minnesota CDL with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brake endorsements—or the ability to obtain and maintain them. Knowledge of school bus routing, driver certification, and MNDOT inspection requirements is preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
