Responsibilities Brinkmann Assistant Superintendent Interns are responsible for assisting the Project Superintendent in all aspects of the day-to-day management of a construction project. Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and other members of the project team. Support site safety efforts and help maintain a safe and organized jobsite Complete assigned day-to-day work independently, seeking guidance and support when necessary. Assist with reviewing plans, specifications, and project documents. Execute and enforce safety standards, processes, and procedures. Participate in project documentation, including daily reports, meeting notes, and progress tracking. Work effectively as part of a team. Participate in Brinkmann BUILD program events, trainings, jobsite visits and mock bid. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Pursuing education towards associate or bachelors degree in construction field General knowledge of construction principles/practices. Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule. Ability to understand and solve complex challenges in order to present alternative solution(s). Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office suite. Key success factors include passion for the construction industry, self-motivated, strong work ethic, time-management, organized, detail-oriented and creative.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior internship or work experience in the construction industry.
Working Conditions:
The Assistant Superintendent Intern's work is primarily performed outdoors in various weather conditions with some exposure to health or safety hazards, including noise level may range from moderate to loud Moderate physical effort is required, including the ability to walk the job site, climb ladders and scaffolding, lift loads up to 50 lbs, perform hands-on work when necessary While performing the essential functions of this position, the individual may use hands to handle, control or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
