Job Description

Position Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while upholding Thomas Construction's core values.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Track project progress and report updates to stakeholders. Maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies. Serve as a liaison between field staff, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams. Attend project meetings and assist in resolving issues that may arise. Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractor services. Monitor costs and help manage project budgets to avoid overruns. Support quality control efforts and ensure safety protocols are followed on-site. Participate in site inspections and punch list development.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in commercial construction or project coordination preferred. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam). Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and uphold company values.
Working Conditions:
Office and field environment; occasional travel to job sites. May require extended hours during peak project phases.
Pay:
$15.00 - $25.00 per hour
