Job Description
Travel Lead SuperintendentPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Travel Lead Superintendent to oversee and drive high-quality execution of multifamily construction projects across multiple locations. This role combines hands-on field leadership with travel to project sites, responsibility for schedule and budget adherence, and mentorship of site superintendents and foremen. The ideal candidate has a strong background in multifamily construction, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the flexibility to travel frequently.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead onsite construction activities for multiple multifamily projects, traveling between sites to provide direct supervision and support.
Develop, manage and update project schedules to meet milestones and critical path targets; proactively resolve schedule conflicts.
Oversee quality control and ensure construction meets plans, specifications and industry standards.
Coordinate, monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance; enforce contract compliance and scope control.
Manage onsite labor, mentor and train superintendents and foremen, and allocate resources to maximize productivity.
Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety programs; conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections.
Collaborate with project managers, estimators and owners to communicate progress, identify risks and implement corrective actions.
Perform regular site documentation including daily reports, photos, RFIs, submittals, change order documentation and punch lists.
Support procurement and material logistics to ensure timely delivery and minimize downtime.
Drive cost control measures, monitor job budgets and assist in identifying value engineering opportunities.
QualificationsMinimum 3+ years of field construction experience with a proven track record as a superintendent or lead superintendent on multifamily projects.
Preferred experience with Student Housing projectsDemonstrated experience in multifamily construction required; strong knowledge of construction means, methods and sequencing.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently (typical travel 50-75%) and stay at project locations as needed.
Proven leadership skills with experience supervising and mentoring superintendents, foremen and crews.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and construction documents; strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Proficient in construction scheduling and reporting tools; strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations and best practices; OSHA 30 preferred.
