About the
Position:
Muter Construction is seeking a Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager to join our on-site team at Elizabeth City State University. This role assists with the full project lifecycle - from preconstruction through construction and project closeout - with a focus on both new construction and renovations delivered under design-bid-build, design-build and construction manager at risk contract methods. The ideal candidate will work closely with owners, architects, subcontractors and end-users to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards of quality and client experience.
Duties:
Assist with project pre-planning, perform thorough review of plans, specifications, owner and architect contracts and purchase orders. Assist with project scheduling. Assist with constructability reviews as needed Assist with management of submittals - review logs to determine which submittals are critical for job start up, review submittals and follow up with owner/architect/engineer after submission. Follow up and resubmit for corrections as needed. Assist with management change requests, coordinate pricing with preconstruction team if necessary. obtain change order information for owner Assist with project administration including OAC meetings; establishment of work plan and staffing; monitor and ensure quality control in conjunction with field team members. Assist with financial management of project. Assist with project closeout. Adherence to OSHA safety standards Daily collaboration with Field Staff Ability to work on site
Qualifications:
One to five years of related experience in commercial construction OSHA-30
Valid NC Drivers License Education:
High school degree or an equivalent combination of training and work experience
Computer Skills:
Proficient in MS Office or related software MS Project Procore (preferred)
Technical Skills:
Experience in project budgeting/forecasting Experience with actionable schedules to ensure on-time project delivery Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) systems Thorough knowledge of drawings and specifications for project Thorough knowledge of subcontract and material vendor scopes for project Demonstrated understanding of building structural elements as well as finishes Demonstrated understanding of phases of construction projects Ability to perform work in a timely, efficient and professional manner Ability to work within Muter Construction policies and adhere to safety policies set forth by company standards, local and federal regulations
Personal Skills:
