Our teams specialize in complex electrical installations, power distribution systems, industrial facilities, manufacturing environments, and data center construction. As our project portfolio and Southeast operations continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our Gibsonville, North Carolina team and provide leadership throughout all phases of project execution. This is a strategic growth hire and an opportunity to join an expanding operation with significant potential for long-term career advancement. Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Project Manager with a strong background in industrial electrical construction. The successful candidate will be capable of managing projects from preconstruction and planning through construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout, with responsibility for schedules, budgets, manpower planning, procurement, client relationships, project documentation, and overall project performance. We are particularly interested in Project Managers who understand electrical construction from the field level and can effectively bridge the gap between project management and field operations. This individual will work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, clients, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and senior leadership to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. Essential Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Manage electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final turnover and closeout Develop, maintain, and update project schedules to ensure critical milestones and deadlines are achieved Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, labor planning, manpower requirements, and resource allocation Monitor project financial performance, labor productivity, and profitability and implement corrective actions when necessary Coordinate project execution with clients, general contractors, field leadership, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors Lead project meetings and provide consistent progress updates to internal and external stakeholders Review project contracts, scopes of work, inclusions, exclusions, and contractual requirements to ensure proper project execution Identify project risks, delays, scope changes, and operational challenges and develop proactive solutions Manage procurement activities, material tracking, subcontractor coordination, and contract administration Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project resources to support scheduled construction activities Support estimating, takeoffs, bid reviews, change orders, and project planning as required Identify opportunities to improve productivity, control project costs, and increase operational efficiency without compromising safety, quality, or schedule Support project commissioning, turnover, punch-list completion, and final closeout documentation Field Operations & Technical Oversight Provide project leadership and technical oversight for electrical installations involving: EMT, IMC, Rigid, and PVC conduit systems Cable tray and basket tray systems Bus duct installations Large feeder and branch circuit installations Power distribution systems Switchgear and switchboards Transformers Motor control systems Electrical equipment installations and terminations Low-voltage and controls systems Data center electrical infrastructure Mission-critical electrical systems Additional field responsibilities include: Conduct periodic project site walks to evaluate construction progress, field productivity, quality, safety, and schedule performance Work closely with Superintendents, General Foremen, and Foremen to identify and resolve field challenges Monitor installation sequencing and ensure manpower, materials, equipment, and information are available to support production Help identify constructability concerns before they negatively impact project schedule or cost Maintain strong communication between project management and field leadership Documentation & Project Controls Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, schematics, one-lines, and construction documents Ensure project execution complies with applicable NEC requirements, project specifications, codes, and quality standards Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and project documentation Maintain accurate project records, progress reports, cost reports, schedules, and closeout packages Track labor productivity and project progress against established budgets and schedules Review and document changes in project scope and ensure potential change orders are identified and addressed promptly Coordinate permitting, inspections, and approvals with applicable Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) as required Utilize project management and construction software to track project performance, costs, schedules, and documentation Client & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, clients, general contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders Participate in preconstruction planning, project kickoff meetings, and project strategy discussions Communicate project status, risks, schedule impacts, and financial considerations clearly and professionally Coordinate effectively between project management, field leadership, clients, and internal departments Support business development and customer retention through successful project execution and client satisfaction Represent Byers Industrial Services professionally in all project and client interactions Required Qualifications Previous Electrical Project Management experience Strong background in industrial, commercial, mission-critical, or data center electrical construction Experience managing multi-million-dollar electrical construction projects Strong understanding of electrical construction means, methods, sequencing, manpower requirements, and field productivity Working knowledge of power distribution systems, electrical equipment installations, conduit systems, cable tray systems, and electrical infrastructure Strong understanding of construction scheduling and project sequencing Knowledge of NEC requirements and applicable electrical codes Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, blueprints, schematics, and one-lines Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, estimating, cost tracking, and cost control Understanding of change-order management, contract administration, procurement, and subcontractor management Ability to identify scope changes and understand their potential cost and schedule impacts Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Ability and willingness to travel periodically based on project demands Candidates who have progressed through the electrical trade and possess previous field leadership experience as an Electrician, Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, or similar position are strongly encouraged to apply. Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the following is preferred: Procore Bluebeam Primavera P6 HeavyBid Other construction project management, estimating, or scheduling platforms Mission-critical electrical infrastructure Data center construction Electrical commissioning and turnover processes Large-scale industrial and manufacturing construction Preconstruction and electrical estimating Schedule & Work Environment This is a full-time salaried position based out of our Gibsonville, NC office. The standard Project Manager schedule is based on an approximately 50-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. Occasional Saturdays or additional hours may be required when project schedules, critical milestones, or operational demands require additional support. This position is primarily onsite. A hybrid schedule may be available depending on the candidate's experience, responsibilities, project demands, and overall business needs. Any hybrid arrangement will be discussed during the interview process with the Hiring Manager and Senior Leadership and is not guaranteed. Periodic travel to active projects throughout the Southeast and other regions of the United States may be required based on project demands. Travel Candidates must be willing and able to travel periodically based on project requirements and project durations.
