We are seeking a Construction Superintendent with extensive experience in underground infrastructure projects to lead and oversee the installation of potable water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily field operations, managing personnel and equipment, ensuring project safety, and guaranteeing compliance with established plans, specifications, and schedules. Key Responsibilities Direct and supervise all construction activities related to potable water networks, sanitary sewers, and storm drainage systems. Coordinate crews, operators, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project progress. Plan daily and weekly construction activities, including excavation, trenching, and the installation of piping, structures, and backfill. Review and interpret project plans, profiles, specifications, and technical documents. Monitor crew productivity and ensure adherence to the construction schedule. Oversee the proper installation of pipes, manholes, catch basins, hydrants, valves, and other hydraulic infrastructure components. Coordinate inspections with engineers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, particularly regarding excavation, trenching, confined spaces, and heavy machinery operation. Conduct safety and planning meetings with field personnel. Monitor the quality of work performed and ensure compliance with technical specifications. Resolve operational and technical issues that arise during project execution. Maintain daily reports on production, safety, personnel, equipment, and materials. Coordinate the delivery of materials, equipment, and resources necessary for continuous operations. Collaborate with the Project Manager to control costs, productivity, and scope changes.
Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, or project lead for underground utilities. Proven experience in the installation of potable water, sanitary sewer, and storm drainage systems. Advanced knowledge of excavation, elevation control, pipe lasers, trenching, and compaction. Ability to read and interpret civil plans and utility profiles. Experience supervising multiple crews and construction teams. Knowledge of OSHA standards and excavation safety procedures.
