Leland, NC (w/ some travel) Job Summary Seeking an experienced Mechanical / Piping Superintendent to work within our NC Operations team. Candidate should possess a minimum of 7 - 10 years of industrial ground-up experience, with experience in industrial settings, complete understanding of all building trades, materials, and methods. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Candidate will report to the Management team and will be based at our Leland, NC locations. Some travel will be required. Job Responsibilities Pre-Construction
  • Attend and conduct project job walks
  • Prepare logistics plan and construction approaches
  • Contribute constructability reviews as a member of the design team
  • Participate in the General Contractor proposal and interview process
  • Responsible for managing daily construction activities of each assigned project to assure project completion in a safe, profitable and quality manner
  • Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company's non-harassment and non-discrimination policies
  • Resolve employee conflicts and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate Safety
  • Adhere to Company safety program
  • Conduct daily project walks
  • Work with Safety Manager to establish Site Specific Safety Plans
  • Conduct site specific safety training including weekly and / or daily Toolbox Safety Meetings
  • Develop and implement site logistics plan
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment for subcontractors and extended construction team
  • Coordinate and review Job Hazard Analysis and High-Risk activities with Safety Manager and entire construction team
  • Monitor and prepare safety reports with Safety Manager for individual client requirements Field Operations
  • Provide Site Supervision and direction to extended construction and subcontractor team
  • Proactive problem solver with excellent dispute resolution skills
  • Identify, track, and manage Subcontractors scopes
  • Familiar working with Owner/Client campus environments
  • Allocate manpower and resources as required to meet schedule and Owner/Client expectations
  • Coordinate all Field Operations with Owner/Client
  • Generate Daily Reports outlining all activities
  • Work with Project Management to execute project goals
  • Work with Owner, Architect and Engineering team to resolve complex issues in a timely, efficient manner
  • Monitor and log third party testing, project access and logistics plans Scheduling
  • Prepare, monitor, and update Master Schedule
  • Work with Project Management to identify project progress to date
  • Identify potential project impacts and proposed solutions
  • Prepare 3-wk Rolling Schedules Job Qualifications
  • 10 years proven experience in the industrial construction market
  • 5 years experience as a Mechanical / Piping Superintendent
  • Ability to lead projects with crews of up to 50 people
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Experience coordinating subcontractor activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • NCCER+ Pipefitter (Preferred)
  • OSHA 30 (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma / GED; Degree preferred but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including word, excel, outlook.
