FIELD SUPERINTENDENT
|Hourly Rate:
$27 - $31 POSITIONOVERVIEW
The Field Superintendent will lead day-to-day operations on our construction projects. This role is the critical link between planning and execution—ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to specification. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, construction expertise, and the ability to coordinate multiple resources while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The superintendent will function as the eyes and ears on the jobsite, solving problems in real time and keeping projects moving forward.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily Onsite Operations Conduct comprehensive site walk-throughs and safety checks Lead tailgate and safety meetings with crews and subcontractors Review and communicate daily scope and priorities to customers Ensure thorough understanding of all contracted scope commitments Review future scope commitments in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) for accuracy Verify subcontractors are onsite, properly equipped, and aligned with schedule Confirm product deliveries and coordinate material logistics Document daily progress with detailed photos and notes through DPR (Daily Progress Reports) Update Field Operations Manager on risks, delays, or resource needs Complete accurate and timely field verifications to ensure proper fabrication lead time meets customer installation schedules Safety & Compliance Management Enforce strict compliance with OSHA regulations, company standards, and site-specific safety plans Ensure all personnel use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Report incidents and near-misses within required timeframes Exercise stop-work authority immediately when unsafe conditions are identified Implement corrective actions and follow through to resolution Maintain comprehensive safety documentation including JSAs (Job Safety Analysis), permits, and toolbox talk records Quality Control & Inspection Inspect completed work for compliance with plans, drawings, and specifications Identify deficiencies and communicate corrective actions through project management app Approve completed work stages before authorizing subcontractor payments Maintain active punch-list and drive resolution of outstanding items Ensure work meets company quality standards and customer expectations Communication & Coordination Serve as primary onsite point of contact for: General contractor superintendents Field crews and subcontractors Internal Alumiworks departments Facilitate coordination between trades to prevent conflicts and delays Provide comprehensive daily reports to Project Manager including: Tasks completed Manpower onsite Issues encountered and resolution steps Products used and delivered Attend and actively participate in weekly project meetings Maintain professional relationships with all project stakeholders Documentation & Record Keeping Maintain accurate and timely records including: Daily Progress Reports (DPR) with applicable photos and detailed descriptions Safety meeting logs and attendance RFI (Request for Information) notes and responses Change order documentation Provide email documentation for all critical verbal communications Ensure all field documentation is current and accessible Schedule Management Monitor daily crew progress against project schedule Proactively identify and communicate schedule risks or delays to Project Manager and Field Operations Manager Collaborate with Field Operations Manager on two-week and monthly lookahead planning Adjust daily priorities to maintain schedule adherence Coordinate with multiple trades to optimize workflow and prevent bottlenecksREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
3-10 years of construction field, or supervisory experience focused on Multi-family construction Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety standards and familiarity with fast paced construction environments Experience using various blueprint formats Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications Proven leadership and crew management abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills Problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities Valid driver's license Forklift and Lull operator certification (or ability to obtain certification through Alumiworks)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
OSHA 30-hour certification Experience with structural steel related to stairs and railings, metal fabrication, or related construction specialties Familiarity with scheduling software (MS Project, Procore, Buildertrend) Experience with construction project management apps Previous experience managing subcontractors Technical understanding of shop drawings and fabrication processesTECHNOLOGY & TOOLS
