As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Project Executive (PX) to provide strategic leadership across multiple projects while driving performance, relationships, and results at the highest level. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives on accountability, mentorship, and delivering complex projects with excellence. Position Overview The Project Executive (PX) is a senior operations leader responsible for overseeing multiple construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role sets the tone for project success—serving as a trusted advisor to clients, a mentor to teams, and a key driver of operational and financial performance. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery Excellence Ensure all assigned projects meet safety, schedule, budget, and quality expectations Guide Owners, Architects, and project teams from preconstruction through completion Maintain ultimate accountability for project and team success Champion MCL standards, processes, and operational excellence Client Relationship Management Build and sustain long-term client and partner relationships Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring a positive and seamless client experience Represent MCL with professionalism, responsiveness, and integrity Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing project teams Support recruiting, hiring, and career development initiatives Foster a culture aligned with MCL's values of collaboration, respect, and accountability Business Development & Growth Support pursuit strategies, proposals, and client presentations Participate in RFP and interview processes Contribute to market growth and long-term client partnerships Operational & Financial Performance Oversee project financial health, including cost control and resource optimization Drive performance across safety, quality, schedule, and client satisfaction metrics Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Safety, Quality, HR, and Accounting teams Promote a culture of communication, alignment, and continuous improvement Strategic Leadership Contribute to company initiatives, innovation, and long-term growth strategies Model leadership that reflects MCL's commitment to excellence Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or an Engineering field (Civil, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, or Architectural preferred) 10+ years of commercial construction experience, including: 5+ years in a Project Manager role Proven track record of: Relationship management and client development Business development success and repeat work generation Strong experience in: Developing and delivering client presentations and proposals Participating in pursuit strategies and interviews Experience with integrated project delivery methods (CMAR, Design-Build, IPD, etc.) Highly technology proficient, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Expert understanding of commercial construction operations Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities Advanced leadership and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams Why MCL Construction Established, growing commercial general contractor in the Midwest Strong reputation built on trust, relationships, and doing the right thing Opportunity to shape strategy, mentor teams, and influence company growth Culture grounded in Passion, Dedication, Thoroughness, and Respect
