Job Description

Function:
The EnlightenMENT Coach Supervisor provides direct supervision, coaching, and support to Peer Navigators who deliver mentorship to youth and young adults (YYA) involved in the child welfare system. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery through staff development, field-based coaching, and ongoing performance support. The Coach Supervisor models effective engagement, empowerment, and connection strategies, helping Peer Navigators translate their lived experience into purposeful, goal-oriented mentorship. This includes supporting staff in building professional boundaries, strengthening relationships with youth, and navigating complex situations in a trauma-informed manner. The Coach Supervisor plays a key role in onboarding and training new staff, reinforcing program expectations, and maintaining alignment with program goals and standards. This role works closely with the Clinical Coordinator, CP&P staff, and system partners to support coordinated, effective services for young people.
Responsibilities:
Staff Engagement and Support Establishes and maintains a supportive, collaborative supervision environment that promotes open communication and trust Supports Peer Navigators in building and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries with YYA Provides ongoing guidance to staff in navigating complex situations with youth and systems Promotes a safe, trauma-informed work environment that supports staff well-being and professional growth Facilitates communication and collaboration between Peer Navigators, CP&P staff, and other service providers. Empowerment and Skill Development Provides direct coaching through observation, modeling, and feedback in both office and community settings Demonstrates effective engagement, empowerment, and connection strategies aligned with the EnlightenMENT model Uses role play, reflective supervision, and skill-building exercises to strengthen staff practice Coaches staff in communication, self-advocacy support, professionalism, time management, and boundary-setting Supports Peer Navigators in translating lived experience into appropriate and effective mentorship practices Provides timely, constructive, and strengths-based feedback to support continuous improvement Helps staff identify goals and develop actionable strategies for professional growth Supports staff in recognizing patterns, challenges, and opportunities across their work with YYA Supervision and Program Oversight Provides regular individual supervision (weekly or as needed) to Peer Navigators Participates in hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff Monitors staff performance and provides ongoing coaching to ensure the quality and consistency of service delivery Reviews documentation and provides feedback to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with program expectations Supports staff in planning and prioritizing work activities and managing caseload responsibilities Collaborates with the Clinical Coordinator to ensure appropriate clinical support and guidance are provided Participates in case consultation meetings with CP&P and other partners Engages in ongoing meetings with DCF Office of Family Preservation & Reunification (OFPR) to support implementation and program alignment Supports DCF evaluation activities, including oversight of data collection and survey processes
Qualifications/ Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required Lived experience in the child welfare system preferred Minimum of 2 years of coaching, supervision, or leadership required OR at least 4 years of relevant experience working with youth in community-based settings, including demonstrated leadership responsibilities. Experience engaging and empowering young people required Strong leadership with the ability to support, guide, and develop staff. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple staff and priorities Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Understanding of trauma-informed practice and youth development principles Ability to build effective relationships with staff, youth, and system partners Ability to provide coaching, feedback, and performance support Must have willingness and ability to work in community-based settings and maintain a flexible schedule, including after-school, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
