ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT
—MULTI-UNIT RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION
Jersey City, NJ | Up to $90,000 DOE | Full-Time Are you an up-and-coming construction professional ready to take the next step in your field leadership career? Our client, a well-established and highly active general contractor based in Jersey City, NJ, is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to join their team on multi-unit residential projects. This is a firm with a strong and consistent pipeline of work — and a team that takes care of the people who deliver it. Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with job site logistics, field coordination, and project scheduling on active multi-unit residential projects Coordinate and oversee subcontractor work managing performance, sequencing, and accountability on site Build and maintain strong working relationships with the project team, client, architect, community stakeholders, and inspectors Assist in maintaining and updating the project progress schedule. Tracking milestones and flagging variances early Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to align with active work schedules and minimize disruption Champion safety and quality on site assertively monitoring compliance, enforcing programs and procedures, and setting the standard for the team and subcontractors Identify and document subcontractor deficiencies and track remediation efforts to completion Review installed work and products against project specifications and manufacturer guidelines Attend project and client meetings -communicating site status, coordinating with stakeholders, and supporting budget, schedule, and quality goals Complete daily job site reports, safety inspections, quality inspections, and all required site documentation Maintain and organize on-site project records Assist with change order management and documentation Manage punch list completion in coordination with the Superintendent and project management team Communicate daily with the Superintendent on all job site activities, issues, and progressWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
1+ years of hands-on construction experience, multi-unit residential experience strongly preferred Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project required Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment, tools, and trade practices Familiarity with construction documents, drawings, and all phases of construction Strong working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and site safety protocols Excellent organizational and time management skills so you can juggle multiple priorities without losing attention to detail Strong communicator — You work well with subcontractors, project managers, clients, and inspectors alike A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset where you identify problems early and bring solutions to the table Must be able to work on site full-time in Jersey City, NJWHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
