full-time We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent with a strong background in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Laboratory, or Advanced Manufacturing construction to oversee field operations on complex projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activities while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable pharmaceutical and life sciences requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader with experience working in highly regulated environments and coordinating multiple trades, particularly MEP systems, cleanrooms, process utilities, and complex building systems . Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day field operations for Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical construction projects. Take ownership of site safety, quality, scheduling, logistics, and overall field productivity. Lead and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel across multiple trades. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in coordination with the Project Manager. Coordinate complex MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, process piping, and equipment installation activities. Review architectural, structural, MEP, and process drawings to identify conflicts and ensure work is installed according to specifications. Coordinate construction activities within cleanrooms, laboratories, manufacturing areas, and other controlled environments . Ensure construction activities comply with project quality requirements, applicable building codes, OSHA standards, and pharmaceutical/life sciences protocols. Work within GMP-regulated environments and maintain required documentation and procedures where applicable. Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, equipment installations, and work within active operating facilities. Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and participate in OAC and project meetings. Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential schedule, quality, safety, and coordination issues. Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities. Maintain accurate daily reports, RFIs, punch lists, field documentation, and project records. Coordinate material deliveries, site logistics, staging, and manpower requirements. Work closely with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite with a strong focus on quality and contamination control. Lead punch list, commissioning, and project closeout activities through final completion. Qualifications 5+ years of construction field experience , with significant experience as a Superintendent. Experience working on Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Laboratory, Healthcare, or Advanced Manufacturing projects. Experience managing complex construction projects in active or highly regulated environments. Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction sequencing . Experience coordinating HVAC systems, process piping, electrical systems, controls, and other building/process systems. Experience with cleanrooms, controlled environments, GMP facilities, or laboratory construction strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and process drawings. Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and construction safety practices. Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously. Strong understanding of project scheduling, sequencing, and manpower planning. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore preferred. OSHA 30 certification preferred.
