Job Description

Commercial Glazing Project Coordinator / Project Manager Millville Glass & Door is a family-owned commercial glazing contractor serving New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Glazing Project Coordinator / Project Manager to join our team. We are looking for someone who understands the commercial glass and glazing industry and can help manage projects from the initial bid opportunity through project coordination and completion. This is not a general administrative position. The right candidate must be able to understand commercial glazing systems, read construction drawings, communicate with contractors, visit job sites, take measurements, identify problems, and help keep projects moving. Key Responsibilities Bid & Preconstruction Review incoming invitations to bid and determine whether projects fit our company's scope, capabilities, service area, and bidding requirements Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, storefront elevations, door schedules, glass requirements, and project scope Identify missing information and request necessary drawings, specifications, or clarifications Organize qualified bid opportunities and forward complete project information to our outside takeoff/estimating resource Review returned takeoffs and project information for completeness Communicate with general contractors regarding scope, bid requirements, deadlines, alternates, and project questions Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required Project Coordination Assist with transitioning awarded projects from estimating into active production Review project scope, drawings, measurements, material requirements, and scheduling needs Communicate with general contractors, vendors, suppliers, field personnel, and management Track outstanding project information, approvals, material requirements, and deadlines Assist with submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change conditions, and project documentation Coordinate field measurements and verify existing conditions Visit job sites as necessary to review conditions, take measurements, meet with contractors, and resolve issues Identify potential problems before they affect fabrication or installation Help coordinate material ordering, fabrication, and installation schedules Follow up with contractors and vendors to keep projects moving Address field questions and assist with problem-solving during installation Maintain organized and accurate project records Required Experience & Skills Commercial glass and glazing experience is required Knowledge of commercial storefront, entrance doors, glass, glazing systems, and related hardware Ability to read and understand architectural drawings, elevations, details, door schedules, and specifications Ability to accurately read a tape measure and take field measurements Experience working with general contractors and commercial construction professionals Ability to visit active construction sites and understand field conditions Strong problem-solving ability Ability to recognize missing information or discrepancies before they become project problems Strong written and verbal communication skills Organized and capable of managing multiple active projects and deadlines Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities Experience with YKK, Kawneer, Oldcastle/Vistawall, Tubelite, or similar commercial glazing systems is strongly preferred. Experience with commercial door hardware, public works projects, prevailing wage requirements, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and material purchasing is a plus. Who We Want to Talk To Your current title does not necessarily matter to us. You may currently be a commercial glazing project manager, assistant project manager, estimator, project coordinator, field supervisor, lead glazier, or experienced commercial glazier looking to move into project management. What matters is that you know the commercial glass business . You should be able to look at a storefront elevation, door schedule, set of plans, or existing job site condition and understand what you're looking at. You should also be comfortable communicating directly with contractors, asking questions, identifying potential issues, and finding solutions. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their projects and does not wait for problems to find them.
