We are looking for a Project Manager, preferably in heavy civil, site work, public works, DOT, landscape construction, or infrastructure projects. The right candidate must understand construction drawings, specifications, field coordination, subcontractors, vendors, schedules, change orders, submittals, RFIs, billing, and closeout. Job description:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing assigned construction projects from start to closeout to ensure they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and Wetlands company policies. This role requires daily coordination between the office, field crews, superintendents, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and public agencies.
Required Construction Experience:
Applicants must have experience in one or more of the following areas: Heavy civil construction Site work Public works construction DOT or municipal projects Landscape construction Parks and streetscape projects Drainage, grading, utilities, concrete, asphalt, hardscape, or restoration work Union or prevailing wage construction projects Commercial construction with strong field coordination experience
Key Responsibilities:
Manage assigned construction projects through all phases, including pre-construction, active construction, punch list, and closeout. Review contracts, plans, specifications, addenda, estimates, scopes of work, schedules, and project requirements. Ensure compliance with scope, specifications, contract requirements, safety requirements, and company standards. Attend and lead jobsite meetings, including pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, coordination meetings, and closeout meetings. Identify project risks early and communicate issues that may affect schedule, cost, production, or profitability. Create and maintain submittal logs for assigned projects. Create plant lists, product lists, and material tracking logs for assigned projects. Prepare and track RFIs, RFDs, and other project correspondence. Maintain organized project documentation for approvals, materials, certifications, and closeout. Obtain quotes from vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and trucking companies. Confirm delivered materials match purchase orders, specifications, quantities, and approved submittals. Support daily safety huddles, PPE compliance, and Tuesday toolbox talks. Assist with mark-outs, utility coordination, site access, deliveries, and jobsite logistics. Assist with project schedules and look-ahead planning. Prepare, track, and follow up on change orders, extra work tickets, T&M work, and backup documentation. Communicate budget, schedule, and production concerns to the Senior Project Manager and company leadership. Prepare pencil requisitions and assist with monthly billing. Manage project closeout from punch list through final payment. Provide regular updates to the Senior Project Manager regarding project status, schedule, costs, risks, change orders, billing, and closeout.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of construction project management experience required. Heavy civil, site work, landscape construction, DOT, public works, municipal, parks, streetscape, or infrastructure experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and closeout requirements. Ability to manage multiple active construction projects and priorities at the same time. Ability to communicate effectively. Strong organization, follow-up, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read plans, identify scope, understand quantities, and support field execution. Experience with Asana, Microsoft Office, project management software, or similar systems is a plus. Valid driver's license required. OSHA 30 preferred.
