The General Superintendent will be responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities, coordinating field personnel and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to contract requirements. Pay is DOE The ideal candidate has strong heavy civil construction experience, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple crews and activities while maintaining productivity and schedule. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily field operations on heavy civil construction projects. Supervise and coordinate Foremen, Superintendents, operators, laborers, subcontractors, and other field personnel. Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and scopes of work. Develop and maintain short-term and long-term field schedules. Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors. Monitor production and productivity to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Coordinate earthwork, excavation, grading, utilities, paving, concrete, drainage, and other heavy civil activities. Conduct and participate in daily pre-construction and coordination meetings. Communicate regularly with Project Managers regarding project progress, schedule, manpower, equipment, and potential issues. Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards. Maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors. Identify potential delays, conflicts, and field issues and work with the project team to resolve them. Enforce company safety policies and assist with maintaining a safe jobsite. Monitor equipment utilization and coordinate equipment needs. Review daily reports, production quantities, time, materials, and field documentation. Assist with project closeout and punch-list activities. Maintain professional communication with clients and project stakeholders. Perform other duties as required to support successful project completion. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction. Previous experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, Foreman, or similar leadership position. Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods and practices. Experience with underground utilities, earthwork, grading, paving, drainage, and/or concrete construction. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Strong understanding of construction schedules and sequencing. Ability to lead multiple crews and coordinate subcontractors. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced field environment. Valid driver's license. Ability to travel to project sites as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with public works and government construction projects. Experience working with inspectors and engineers. OSHA 30 certification. First Aid/CPR certification. Experience with construction scheduling software. Experience with GPS machine control and modern heavy civil construction technology.
