$120,000 - $160,000 base, commensurate with experience A national general contractor specializing in high-performance commercial construction is hiring a Construction Superintendent to run day-to-day field operations on its retail, restaurant, and commercial buildout projects across the NYC tri-state area. You'll take full ownership of assigned job sites, working under tight schedules to deliver multi-site brand programs and single-location buildouts on time and to spec, coordinating trades, subcontractors, and inspections along the way. With nearly 40 years in business and a reputation for on-time completion, this is a stable platform for a superintendent who thrives on fast-paced retail and hospitality construction. Responsibilities Run day-to-day field operations on assigned retail, restaurant, or commercial buildout projects from mobilization through turnover Coordinate and directly supervise subcontractors and trade partners to keep tight, brand-rollout schedules on track Conduct daily site walks and quality control checks, and manage the punch list through close-out Enforce jobsite safety programs and OSHA compliance Coordinate inspections with local building departments, landlords, and code officials Manage material and equipment deliveries and resolve field logistics issues as they arise Track daily progress against schedule and proactively flag delays or field conditions to the project management team Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to confirm work is being installed correctly Communicate regularly with clients, architects, and landlord representatives on active job sites Maintain daily job site reports and documentation Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a construction superintendent on commercial buildout, retail, or restaurant construction projects Experience running multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously on fast-paced, schedule-driven projects Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, codes, and inspection processes in the NYC tri-state area Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications OSHA 30 certification Strong written and verbal communication skills Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across NY, NJ, and CT Preferred Experience with multi-site retail or restaurant rollout programs for national brands Familiarity with ICRA protocols or night-shift/phased remodel work Experience with Procore or similar project management/scheduling software Compensation and Benefits $120,000 - $160,000 base salary, commensurate with experience Full medical, dental, and vision 401(k) with company contribution PTO and paid holidays Vehicle allowance or company vehicle (where applicable) Stable, high-volume pipeline of work with a well-established national contractor This is a confidential search conducted on behalf of the hiring company.
