With multiple successful locations already open and several major new openings underway (including Tribeca, FiDi, Midtown, and beyond), we are aggressively expanding our footprint in 2026 and 2027. ### Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, hands-on
  • Construction Manager
  • to oversee the full lifecycle of restaurant construction and renovation projects. You will manage the build-out of new Carnegie Diner & Café locations as well as remodels and expansions of existing sites. This role is critical to delivering high-quality, on-brand spaces on time and within budget in a fast-paced, multi-project environment. ### Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple restaurant construction projects simultaneously from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, landlords, and city agencies to secure permits and approvals.
  • Select, negotiate with, and manage general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure all construction adheres to Carnegie Diner & Café design standards, branding guidelines, and high-quality finish requirements (diners require specific kitchen, seating, signage, and atmosphere elements).
  • Conduct regular site visits, monitor progress, and proactively resolve issues, delays, or change orders.
  • Track project financials, including forecasting, invoicing, and variance reporting.
  • Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure full compliance with all building codes, health department regulations, and NYC DOB requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations team to align construction timelines with opening schedules, hiring, and training.
  • Oversee punch lists, final inspections, and turnover of completed spaces. ### Qualifications & Requirements
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Construction Manager or Project Manager, ideally in
  • restaurant, retail, or hospitality
  • construction.
  • Strong knowledge of NYC building codes, permitting processes, and DOB/Landmarks procedures.
  • Experience managing ground-up builds, tenant improvements (TI), and renovations in dense urban environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and kitchen equipment drawings.
  • Solid understanding of restaurant-specific systems (hoods, grease traps, walk-ins, POS, etc.).
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between project sites in the Tri-State area.
  • Greek-speaking or familiarity with Greek culture a plus (but not required). ### What We Offer
