Job Title:
Experienced Commercial Site Superintendent Job Description This role leads field operations for commercial construction projects valued at $5 million and above. The Commercial Site Superintendent oversees all onsite activities, including schedule execution, subcontractor coordination, safety compliance, and quality control, to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard. The position suits a proven field leader with strong organizational abilities, deep knowledge of commercial construction, and experience managing complex, multi-trade projects from ground-up through closeout. Responsibilities Manage all onsite construction activities for commercial projects exceeding $5 million in value. Plan, coordinate, and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with the project management team. Supervise subcontractors, labor forces, and vendors to ensure productivity, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with company policies. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe jobsite at all times. Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work. Review and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify and resolve conflicts in the field. Conduct daily site coordination meetings and toolbox talks to align crews, communicate priorities, and reinforce safety expectations. Coordinate inspections and approvals with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors to keep the project on schedule. Identify potential issues early, proactively resolve field challenges, and escalate concerns when necessary. Monitor construction quality and enforce quality control standards throughout all phases of the project. Manage punch lists, ensure timely completion of outstanding items, and support project closeout and turnover activities. Support construction safety initiatives and ensure compliance with construction safety protocols and regulations. Coordinate site development and site construction activities as part of overall project delivery. Utilize construction management tools and project coordination practices to track progress and communicate updates. Support schedule management for fast-track or complex projects to minimize disruptions and maintain milestones. Essential Skills 7+ years of experience as a Commercial Site Superintendent. Proven track record managing and delivering commercial construction projects valued at $5 million or more. Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and sequencing. Hands-on experience with ground-up commercial construction and site development. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple trades, subcontractors, and schedules simultaneously. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and construction specifications. Experience in commercial construction, including mixed-use, multifamily, and other commercial project types. Proficiency in construction management, construction supervision, and site construction oversight. Solid background in construction safety practices and the ability to enforce safety standards on site. Strong skills in project coordination, scheduling, and schedule management. Experience working with general contractors and a wide range of construction trades. Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team coordination and field leadership. Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and resolve field issues quickly. Experience using construction management software such as Procore or similar platforms. Additional Skills & Qualifications OSHA certification preferred. Experience with occupied facilities and renovation projects is a plus. Experience managing fast-track schedules is highly desirable. background in quality control for commercial construction projects. Familiarity with multifamily construction and mixed-use developments. Experience working within a structured safety program and participating in toolbox talks. Ability to collaborate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Work Environment This is a field-based role on active commercial construction jobsites. The position operates on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with work performed primarily at the jobsite. The superintendent works closely with project management, subcontractors, and vendors in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent site walks, coordination meetings, and direct oversight of construction activities. The work involves exposure to typical construction site conditions, including outdoor weather, active equipment, and varying site stages from ground-up through completion, with appropriate safety practices and personal protective equipment required. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Saratoga Springs, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
