INSTALLATION MANAGER
Position Overview The Installation Manager is responsible for leading and developing Window Universe's installation operation with a primary focus on quality, productivity, training development, people, customer experience, safety, and profitability . This position is not primarily an installer role . The Installation Manager is a leader who sets expectations, develops people, inspects performance, solves problems, and holds the installation team accountable to company standards. This person will work closely with the General Manager, Operations Manager, Sales, Service, and Warehouse teams to ensure the installation department operates efficiently and profitably.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
5+ years of leadership/management experience Demonstrated experience managing and developing a field-based workforce Leading multiple crews and field employees Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive team culture 5+ years of demonstrated ability to manage budgets/ P&L, labor costs, and departmental profitability Strong, PROACTIVE communication and conflict-resolution skills 5+ years of HR-related responsibilities Experience with employee management, coaching, performance management Mid to High level of computer literacy and proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint Canva Experience with fleet management and vehicle operations Strong organizational and project-management skills Ability to analyze operational data and make business decisions based on that information Ability to work independently and make decisions in the field Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Preferred:
Experience managing a $10 million+ installation operation or comparable field-service operation Experience developing installation KPIs Experience with fleet budgeting and capital planning Experience building structured training and career-development programs

Establish clear expectations for installation quality, productivity, professionalism, safety, and customer service Conduct regular field inspections to verify that company standards are being followed 2.
INSTALLATION PROFITABILITY & PRODUCTION
Manage the installation department with a strong understanding of labor cost, productivity, gross profit, and operating efficiency Monitor production rates by crew and installer Help develop annual installation budgets and operating target. 3.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Provide coaching, corrective action, and performance improvement plans when necessary. Partner with leadership/HR on employee relations issues. Maintain appropriate documentation of performance, coaching, training, and disciplinary actions. Recruit, interview, and assist in hiring installation personnel. Conduct employee onboarding and orientation. Conduct performance evaluations. Monitor employee hours and timekeeping. 4.
FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
Conduct routine and unannounced jobsite inspections Review customer concerns and determine whether issues are related to product, installation, communication, or customer expectations Identify trends in installation failures and implement process or training changes 5.
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
Establish skill requirements for each installer level. Develop Crew Leaders and future management candidate Create a culture of continuous learning and advancement 6.
SCHEDULING & PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
Work closely with the Operations Manager to develop and maintain the installation schedule Ensure appropriate crews, labor, vehicles, equipment, and materials are assigned to each project. Monitor daily production and adjust when jobs fall behind schedule 7.
FLEET & EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT
Manage the company's installation vehicles and equipment Maintain vehicle inspection and maintenance procedures Monitor preventative maintenance schedules 8.
WAREHOUSE & MATERIAL MANAGEMENT
Maintain appropriate inventory levels for installation operations Monitor material usage and identify waste Monitor inventory costs and identify purchasing opportunities Establish standards for warehouse organization and cleanliness 9.
SAFETY & RISK MANAGEMENT
Address unsafe behavior immediately Investigate accidents and near misses Implement corrective action following safety incidents 10.
PROCESS & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Establish, document, and maintain installation procedures Create standardized installation processes Review processes regularly and identify inefficiencies Develop systems that reduce mistakes and rework Use data to identify performance trends Implement new technology and systems when appropriate Work with leadership to improve communication between Sales, Operations, Installation, Service, and Warehouse Identify bottlenecks and develop solutions 11.
COMMUNICATION & CROSS-DEPARTMENT LEADERSHIP
Maintain consistent communication with Operations, Sales, Service, Warehouse, and leadership Participate in regular leadership meetings Communicate installation capacity and production concerns Provide timely updates regarding job delays, quality issues, staffing concerns, and customer issues Establish clear communication expectations for Crew Leaders Ensure customer-impacting issues are communicated quickly Help Sales understand installation requirements and limitations Provide feedback to Sales regarding sold projects that may create installation challenges
