Job Description

The Project Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day field management and successful execution of construction projects for McKinley Construction. This position provides hands-on leadership on the job site, coordinating subcontractors, vendors, employees, schedules, safety, quality, and overall project progress. The Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager and leadership team to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to McKinley Construction's quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee daily construction activities on assigned projects. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel. Develop and maintain project schedules and communicate milestones and potential delays. Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, building codes, and company standards. Conduct regular job-site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and workmanship. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site and enforce all company and OSHA safety requirements. Lead daily and weekly job-site meetings as needed. Coordinate inspections, deliveries, materials, equipment, and site logistics. Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and scheduling concerns promptly. Communicate project status, challenges, and needs to the Project Manager and leadership team. Review plans and specifications and coordinate with project team members to address discrepancies. Track project progress and assist with documentation, reporting, and closeout activities. Maintain strong professional relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other project stakeholders. Assist with punch-list completion and ensure projects are properly prepared for final turnover. Represent McKinley Construction professionally and promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and quality. Qualifications 5+ years of construction experience, with previous Superintendent or Field Supervisor experience preferred. Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, scheduling, and job-site operations. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software is preferred. OSHA 30 certification or willingness to obtain is preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to work primarily on active construction job sites. Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs/ladders, and navigate uneven terrain. Ability to lift and move materials or equipment as necessary. Must be willing to work varying hours based on project requirements, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
