Residential Construction Foreman / Lead Carpenter $35-$45/hour : Monday-Friday Southridge Builders, LLC is looking for an experienced residential construction professional to help lead our crews and keep projects running smoothly throughout Southern Oregon. We're a small, growing construction company, and we're looking for someone who really knows residential construction . You don't necessarily need previous foreman experience or an official leadership title. What matters most to us is having enough hands-on experience that you can walk onto a job site, understand what's going on, recognize when something isn't right, and know what needs to happen next. We're looking for at least 5 years of hands-on residential construction experience, with experience in both rough and finish carpentry. This is a hands-on position. You'll help direct the crew and keep the job organized, but you'll also work alongside the crew as needed. What You'll Be Doing Help lead and organize our residential construction crews. Perform and oversee rough and finish carpentry. Read plans and make sure work is being completed correctly. Look ahead and help determine what needs to happen next on the project. Catch construction or workmanship issues before they turn into bigger, more expensive problems. Help make sure materials, equipment, inspections, and subcontractors are lined up when needed. Meet with building inspectors and make sure the job is ready for inspections. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and our office. Help less-experienced crew members when they need direction. Keep job sites safe, organized, and productive. Communicate with management about job progress, upcoming needs, and any problems that come up. Jump in and work alongside the crew when needed. What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of hands-on residential construction experience, including both rough and finish carpentry. Strong understanding of residential construction methods and how the different stages of a project fit together. Able to read and work from residential construction plans. Able to look at work in progress and recognize when something isn't right. Able to think ahead and anticipate problems before they become expensive fixes. Good practical problem-solving skills. Comfortable giving direction to other crew members when needed. Dependable and able to work without constant supervision. Easy to communicate and work with. Takes pride in doing quality work. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must be insurable to operate company vehicles. Comfortable driving a company truck and pulling trailers. Previous foreman or crew leadership experience is a plus, but it is not required. Bilingual English/Spanish is also a plus, but not required. What We Offer $35-$45/hour depending on experience. We are looking for someone who has spent enough time building homes that they have developed good construction judgment. You should be able to walk through a project and notice things — a framing problem, something that doesn't match the plans, poor workmanship, something that needs to happen before the next trade arrives, or an issue that will create a headache later if nobody addresses it now. We want someone who takes pride in their work, gets along with the crew, communicates when there's a problem, and is willing to help figure out the solution.
