Field Supervisor
Job Description
Position Summary The Field Supervisor manages a caseload of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, helping them build skills, maintain independence, and participate in their communities while working toward their service plan goals in a safe and supportive environment. The Field Supervisor also supports and mentors Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), monitors staff performance, communicates regularly with the Community Manager, and assists with administrative tasks such as documentation and scheduling. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Client Support Manage a caseload of individuals receiving community-based services, providing consistent guidance and support. Teach and model appropriate living skills and behaviors, tailoring instruction to each individual's learning style. Support clients in achieving their service plan goals through consistent coaching and feedback. Plan and facilitate engaging, inclusive activities and events for individuals and groups, in alignment with client interests and needs. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all individuals by identifying and responding to environmental risks and behavioral concerns. Monitor and respond to clients' health-related needs, including conditions such as diabetes, seizures, food allergies, and mental health concerns. Coordinate safe and efficient transportation for clients as needed. Administrative and Documentation Requirements Maintain accurate and timely documentation for each client on caseload, including daily activity records, progress notes, and quarterly reports that reflect the support and progress provided. Monitor client service hours and mileage to ensure compliance with authorized limits. Prepare and submit monthly expense reports in accordance with company policy. Participate in new client orientations and service renewals. Supervisory Responsibilities Provide guidance and support to DSP staff, particularly in addressing client behavior concerns. Mentor new team members and support their onboarding through shadowing opportunities. Serve as a primary point of contact for unscheduled staff or client absences, and provide coverage in the Community Manager's absence. Assist with coverage planning and communicate schedule updates to the Community Manager. Maintain required client risk and support documentation (e.g., Action Plans, Protocols, Risk Management Plans, One-Page Profiles) and ensure client information remains current. Lead the planning and distribution of the client event calendar and oversee special event coordination. Perform other duties as assigned. Schedule Full-time position, combining administrative/supervisory duties with direct client and field-based staff support. Approximately 12-16 hours dedicated to administrative and supervisory duties and 24-28 hours focused on direct client services and support for field-based staff. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexibility in how hours are distributed based on client needs, staff coverage requirements, and operational priorities. Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license, a good driving record, proof of personal auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle. Successful completion and approval of a background investigation through the Oregon Background Check Unit (ORCHARDS), as required by the Oregon Department of Human Services. ' Must successfully clear required SAM (System for Award Management) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion screenings. Must serve as a mandatory abuse reporter, as required by Oregon law. Preferred Qualifications At least one year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, including experience in a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or similar role. Current OIS (Oregon Intervention System) certification, or willingness to obtain. Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain. Proficiency with basic computer applications and electronic documentation systems Experience planning and adapting activities and services to meet individuals' sensory, mobility, behavioral, and accessibility needs, with knowledge of local community resources to identify safe, inclusive, and accessible opportunities that align with client interests and goals. Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including assisting with personal care, household duties, meal preparation, and documentation. Ability to maintain alertness and respond appropriately to client needs, safety concerns, and emergency situations. Ability to travel to and work within client residences or assigned locations. Ability to use hands and arms to operate equipment, complete documentation, and perform required care tasks. Ability to tolerate exposure to a variety of home and residential environments.
