Job Description

Superintendent Construction Superintendent Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee multi-family and industrial projects from pre-construction through closeout. The Superintendent will be responsible for on-site leadership, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards while coordinating with subcontractors, clients, and project managers. Key Responsibilities Lead daily on-site operations and manage all construction activities to meet schedule and quality objectives. Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules, coordinate trades and subcontractors, and adjust sequencing to mitigate delays. Enforce safety programs and compliance with OSHA and company safety policies; conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections. Oversee quality control, perform regular inspections, and ensure work meets contract documents, plans, and specifications. Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and logistics to maintain efficient workflow and minimize downtime. Manage subcontractor performance, review scopes of work, and ensure timely completion of contracted tasks. Communicate progress, issues, and change orders to project managers, owners, and stakeholders; document site activities and maintain accurate daily reports. Resolve on-site problems, make proactive decisions to keep projects on track, and collaborate with estimating and project management teams during pre-construction and change management. Facilitate inspections, obtain required permits and approvals, and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations. Mentor and supervise field staff, promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial or multi-family construction projects; experience with industrial projects strongly preferred. Proven track record managing multi-family and industrial job sites from start to finish. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, means and methods, and ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Demonstrated leadership and communication skills; ability to coordinate multiple trades and build strong subcontractor relationships. Working knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA) and experience enforcing site safety programs; OSHA 30 certification preferred. Proficient with project management tools and scheduling software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera) and comfortable preparing daily reports and progress documentation. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risk on site. Valid drivers license; ability to travel to job sites as required. Degree or technical certification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is a plus.
