Job Description

Position:
Assistant Superintendent Employment Type:
Full-Time (Exempt Administrative)
Job Overview:
The Asst Superintendent will assist the Superintendent with all on-site construction activities to ensure safety, quality of work, schedule adherence, and compliance with contract requirements. Must be willing to travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
Identify and communicate issues or areas of concern to the Project Manager. Document daily on-site activities, including progress, manpower, inspections, and weather conditions, with narrative and photos.
Safety Management:
Implement and enforce accident prevention plans. Identify and communicate site safety concerns and ensure proper precautions are taken. Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for hazardous materials on-site.
Quality Control:
Perform quality inspections and coordinate third-party inspectors. Prepare punch lists and ensure completion of outstanding tasks.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on site activities and progress. Ensure project records, including drawings, schedules, and logs, are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training. Knowledge of building construction methods, scheduling, cost control procedures, and contract documents. Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, and project schedules. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Valid driver's license. Strong attention to detail and the ability to exercise discretion and judgment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate construction sites. Manual dexterity for office tasks and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities, including close vision and depth perception.
Working Conditions:
Regularly works on construction sites with exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, airborne particles, and weather conditions. Noise levels range from moderate to very loud
