Construction Project Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will coordinate all aspects of construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Your expertise in project management, construction estimating, and site supervision will drive successful project outcomes while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. This job will be working remote and also require substantial time on project sites, also working as an owner's representative in a construction management role. Responsibilities Lead the planning, execution, and closing of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets. Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate seamless communication and project flow. Develop detailed project schedules using ProCore or similar construction management software to track progress and identify potential delays. Review blueprints, schematics, and contracts to ensure clarity of scope and compliance with design specifications. Oversee construction site activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed and quality standards are met. Utilize tools like ProCore and Bluebeam for project documentation, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and progress reports. Manage procurement processes including construction estimating to secure competitive bids and control costs. Monitor project performance through regular site inspections, progress meetings, and updates to project schedules. Ensure effective project coordination by managing subcontractor schedules, resource allocation, and time management strategies. Address issues promptly by applying strong construction management principles while maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders. Experience Proven experience as a Construction Project Manager with a strong background in State government, heavy civil or commercial construction projects. Extensive experience with Virginia State Agency construction projects. Extensive site experience with a solid understanding of construction site safety practices and regulations. Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore and BlueBeam or similar tools for scheduling and project tracking. Skilled in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings; familiarity with BlueBeam is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability in contract administration, including managing contracts and change orders effectively. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes and a good network of trade contractors in Virginia. Excellent project coordination skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining strict deadlines. Effective time management skills combined with excellent communication abilities to lead teams confidently from start to finish.
