Civil Construction Superintendent Job description: We are a civil general contractor performing road, storm sewer, and park renovations for various cities around the KCMO area. This role is based in the field at construction sites throughout KCMO and surrounding areas, with occasional office visits for project planning meetings. You will directly oversee and manage crews performing demolition, earthwork, storm sewer installation, and ADA sidewalk/streetscape work — ensuring each phase is built to plan, on schedule, and to spec.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day field operations across demolition, earthwork, storm sewer, and ADA sidewalk/streetscape phases Oversee project layout and grade control, and coordinate with survey/engineering as needed Direct crew scheduling, sequencing, and daily production to hit project milestones Enforce quality control and ensure work meets plans, specs, and ADA compliance standards Complete daily reporting, quantities, and documentation required by each project's owner (municipal/MoDOT-type reporting) Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and subcontractors on site Maintain jobsite safety and traffic control, including relocating traffic control devices within roadways as needed Communicate proactively with project management on progress, delays, and field conditions

Requirements:

Proven experience supervising civil site work: demolition, earthwork/grading, storm sewer, and concrete/ADA sidewalk installation Working knowledge of municipal/public project requirements (MoDOT, KCMO, or APWA specs a plus) Ability to read and work from civil plans and specifications Strong computer skills — most reporting and communication is done from a laptop in the field Comfortable with physical activity on site (traffic control, walking sites, etc.) Valid Driver's License (Required) High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
