Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly organized Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for commercial and residential construction projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage subcontractors and crews, maintain project schedules, ensure quality workmanship, control job-site costs, and independently resolve field issues. This position requires strong communication, construction knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Site Management & Project Oversight Direct daily construction activities for commercial and residential projects. Ensure all work is completed according to approved plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards. Manage job-site schedules and timelines to ensure projects remain on track for on-time completion. Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, vendors, and field crews. Conduct routine inspections of completed work and identify quality or workmanship deficiencies. Ensure deficiencies and punch-list items are corrected promptly and properly documented. Anticipate potential project challenges and proactively develop solutions. Adjust priorities and resources as project conditions and schedules change. Make appropriate on-site decisions independently when necessary to keep projects moving forward. Labor & Resource Coordination Coordinate crew schedules, labor allocation, and productivity across active projects. Monitor daily progress and communicate project status to management. Identify schedule delays, manpower shortages, or productivity concerns and implement corrective actions. Coordinate material deliveries, equipment placement, subcontractor access, and overall job-site logistics. Maintain accurate employee and subcontractor attendance records. Prepare and maintain daily field reports. Communicate regularly with management, project stakeholders, subcontractors, and vendors. Troubleshoot field issues and provide timely solutions to prevent unnecessary delays. Documentation & Compliance Maintain complete and organized project documentation, including: Daily construction logs Job-site photographs Permits Inspection records Safety documentation Incident reports Subcontractor records Coordinate required inspections with local authorities and inspectors. Verify that work complies with applicable permits, building codes, project specifications, and safety requirements. Track field changes and change orders and communicate scope or cost impacts to management. Maintain an organized filing system for all project and job-site documentation. Budget & Cost Control Monitor project expenses and identify potential budget overruns. Report cost concerns and variances to management promptly. Review subcontractor billing and verify that invoiced work has been satisfactorily completed. Monitor material usage and minimize unnecessary waste. Promote efficient use of labor, materials, equipment, and other project resources. Assist management with maintaining project profitability through effective field management. Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience as a Construction Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Construction Foreman, or Crew Lead. Commercial and/or residential construction experience required. Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, materials, and job-site operations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and plans. Strong understanding of construction safety practices and standards. Excellent leadership and subcontractor-management skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to make decisions independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities. Proficiency with basic Microsoft Excel functions and general computer applications. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Willingness to travel between project sites as required. Must be dependable, flexible, and willing to take ownership of project responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing projects from site preparation through final completion and closeout. Experience coordinating inspections and communicating with local building officials. Knowledge of project budgeting, subcontractor billing, and change-order management. Experience simultaneously overseeing multiple active construction projects. $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
