Job Description

The Fordy Group is partnering with a leading heavy civil and asphalt contractor to hire an experienced Superintendent for a Civil construction projects in Charleston, SC. This is a high-impact opportunity to take the lead in field operations on a major projects, working with a well-established contractor known for quality, safety, and long-term employee investment.
Role Overview:
The Superintendent will oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards. This role requires strong leadership, deep field expertise in heavy highway construction, and the ability to coordinate crews, subcontractors, and project stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily field operations on a large-scale heavy civil projects Manage crews, subcontractors, and equipment to maintain productivity and efficiency Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and company policies Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and inspectors to maintain schedule and quality Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions proactively Interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents Maintain accurate daily reports, schedules, and site documentation
Candidate Profile:
Proven experience as a Superintendent on heavy civil projects Strong leadership and team management skills Deep understanding of DOT standards, roadwork, grading, paving, and utilities Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Commitment to safety and quality on every phase of construction

INDTFG Pay:
$125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
