1 About R3 Plumbing R3 Plumbing is a commercial plumbing contractor based in Greenville, SC, specializing in institutional and commercial construction, including schools and retirement communities. The company is entering a period of significant growth, with a project backlog projected to span approximately two years and major work beginning at year-end. R3 Plumbing is hiring ahead of this ramp-up to bring new team members on board and fully acclimated before the busiest work begins. We are looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations across multiple active job sites, including a major school construction project, and to ensure our crews consistently hit deadlines while upholding safety and quality standards. Why This Role Matters The Superintendent is the operational backbone of R3 Plumbing's fieldwork. This person owns daily execution across 1-2 primary projects, translates project schedules into realistic day-to-day plans, and holds crews accountable to deadlines, safety standards, and quality of work. With a major school project underway and additional commercial work in the pipeline, this role has real authority and real visibility within the company. What You'll Do Field Operations Leadership Set daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly production targets across active job sites and keep work ahead of schedule Determine the most efficient sequence and path to job completion, adjusting as field conditions change Cover multiple job sites in person; this is a fully onsite, field-based role Lead and manage at least two Foremen and their crews across 1-2 primary projects, including the company's major school construction project Schedule Oversight & Coordination Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and Foremen to sequence work and resolve field issues as they arise Sanity-check the Project Manager's timelines and proactively escalate unrealistic deadlines before they cause downstream delays Advance upcoming project sections ahead of schedule where possible to build in a buffer against delays Direct manpower, tools, and equipment rentals across all active jobs Crew Management & Accountability Monitor timesheets, attendance, and crew productivity on a daily basis Lead, direct, and develop Foremen, ensuring deadlines are met and standards are upheld Take corrective and disciplinary action when performance or safety standards are not met, in line with company policy Support the development of a more formal disciplinary process as the company continues to grow Safety & Quality Own jobsite safety across all supervised projects, enforcing standards and leading safety conversations with crews Read and interpret construction drawings, submittals, specifications, and applicable plumbing codes to ensure work is completed correctly the first time Walk jobs regularly to monitor quality and identify issues before they become costly What You Bring 5-10 years of experience in a Superintendent, General Foreman, or senior field leadership role in plumbing or commercial construction (strong candidates with less experience will be considered) Ability to read and interpret drawings, submittals, specifications, and applicable plumbing codes independently Proven ability to lead and hold multiple crews and foremen accountable to deadlines and standards Comfortable making field decisions independently and escalating schedule risk proactively Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and standards Valid driver's license and clean driving record Nice to Have OSHA 10 certification Experience using Procore and comfort working from an iPad in the field SC plumbing license (Journeyman or Master) Experience on school, healthcare, or retirement community construction projects
