Job Type:
Full-time, Exempt Job Description We are seeking an energetic, professional Assistant Custodial Manager to oversee day-to-day custodial operations across multiple sites. In this field-based leadership role, you will be responsible for customer satisfaction, account retention, employee development, and quality control. You will manage a team of 30 to 40 cleaning staff along with dedicated lead supervisors at each site. The ideal candidate brings strong operational habits, a polished demeanor for school administrator interaction, and a proven track record of managing dispersed field teams across multiple locations.

Compensation:
$40,000 - $45,000 base salary

Key Responsibilities Operational & Team Leadership:
Direct daily operations across 4 to 6 sites; supervise, train, coach, and motivate 30 to 40 janitorial employees and on-site lead supervisors.
Client Relations & Communication:
Serve as the primary, polished point of contact for site leaders; take proactive ownership of client satisfaction and contractual performance.
Quality Assurance & Audits:
Conduct regular site audits and inspections to ensure sanitation and cleaning standards consistently meet organizational and client expectations.
Budget & Inventory Control:
Manage operational workflows, monitor labor hours, control expenses, track inventory/equipment usage, and review job costs to maintain budget compliance.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
Enforce safety protocols, chemical safety guidelines, equipment standards, and environmental procedures (Local, State, Federal, and Company requirements).
Administrative & Staffing:
Maintain personnel records, create productivity/staffing plans, assist with onboarding/training, and perform special project work as needed.
Schedule & Travel Schedule:
Full-time exempt, Monday through Friday.
Hours:
Operational availability required during second-shift hours. Very rare weekend work for special events.
Travel:
100% local field travel (maximum travel distance between farthest sites is ~25 minutes). Company vehicle provided; no overnight travel required.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
3-5 years of supervisory experience in janitorial operations, commercial cleaning, or facilities management. Experience managing multi-site or dispersed field teams is required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred, or equivalent field experience.
Communication & Professionalism:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service orientation and the poise to interface directly with clients.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and Gmail applications.
Licensure:
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (required for company vehicle usage).
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
