Position Overview:
We are seeking a Multi-Family Assistant Superintendent who is eager to grow and advance their career. This dynamic role requires diverse skills, flexibility, and a strong desire to contribute to our construction processes. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and supports the rest of the project team in the daily on-site supervision, coordination, and management of field operations for ground-up multifamily projects. This role ensures that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company safety, quality, and building code standards. The daily activities on a construction project are fluid, so the role is fluid as well to accommodate the daily changes. This role requires hands-on work as well as management of subcontractors and will include cleanup, carpentry, unloading of deliveries, material inventory, completion of daily reports, and many other tasks. No day will ever be the same as the previous one.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Accurately track material usage and report discrepancies. Participate in weekly site meetings. Field calls from subcontractors regarding projects. Self-manage responsibilities and follow the company's safety program. Maintain professionalism under tight deadlines. Assist in managing daily field operations, including subcontractor coordination, and material deliveries. Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance, performing daily safety audits. Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets construction documents and standards. Develop, maintain, and close out punch lists for project milestones and final turnover. Help maintain site logistics, ensuring a safe, organized, and clean job site. Review site conditions, layouts, and dimensions to ensure accuracy. Perform hands on carpentry and cleanup duties as required to support the project and keep it running smoothly. Manage labor cleanup crew as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of construction experience. Willingness to work non-traditional hours when necessary.
Certifications:
OSHA 30-hour certification strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Excellent math skills and strong attention to detail. Positive, professional attitude with a strong work ethic. Superior communication and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize workload and self-direct tasks. Strong understanding of construction operations. Capability to manage heavy workloads effectively. Strong team player who takes responsibility for their work.
Physical Demands:
Ability to walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand for extended periods. Ability to walk the entire job site, including uneven surfaces and high-rise structures.
