You'll operate as an owner's representative, managing subcontractors rather than being the subcontractor, giving you a true leadership role on commercial solar projects across the East Coast. Role:
As a Solar Construction Superintendent, you will oversee commercial solar construction projects such as DG sites, carports, and small ground‑mount systems. Projects typically run 12-18 months, and current openings are located in Southern Illinois and Upstate New York. You'll manage daily site operations, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety compliance, and represent the owner throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee daily construction activities on commercial solar sites Manage multiple subcontractors to ensure schedule, budget, and quality targets are met Coordinate installation of solar carports and ground‑mount DG systems Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and workmanship Enforce all safety regulations, permitting requirements, and industry standards Serve as the owner's representative, ensuring alignment between subcontractors and project goalsEssential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in construction management or project supervision Strong understanding of solar construction processes Ability to lead, supervise, and coordinate subcontractor teams Working knowledge of electrical systems related to solar installations Experience as a project engineer or project manager (large or small company) is highly relevantCompensation & Travel:

This is a hands‑on, site‑based role at commercial solar construction projects. You'll work outdoors, manage subcontractor crews, and ensure safe, efficient execution of installations. Projects typically span 12-18 months, followed by reassignment to new sites. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
