•This position requires 4 days onsite in Brentwood, TN.
SUMMARY:
The Director, Construction Management is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of all CCA facility renovations, modifications, and new construction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The successful applicant should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements. Coordinates documentation, schedules, and project participants in construction management services; coordinates construction activities with existing facilities for renovations and additions; coordinates construction activities with internal Design, Operations and Transition teams for all new builds. Reviews contract provisions for compliance with schedule, budget, safety and workmanship. Reviews Insurance Certificates. Periodically inspects work-in-progress to ensure that it conforms to quality specifications and schedule requirements. Attends both design and construction coordination meetings with Architects, Engineers and Contractors. Reviews and approves all project payment applications. Manages the change order process and makes recommendation for approval/denial. Coordinates the 11-month walk-thru inspection.
Manages warranty claims with the facility and contractors. Monitors and maintains database for all active projects. Manages on-site Project or Contract Managers. Domestic U.S. travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field is required. Four years of building construction experience is required. Additional years of related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to two years. Requires strong working knowledge of building design, development, construction, and project management processes and procedures, including design/building contracting. Must be able to evaluate construction documents and contracts. Must have experience with critical path scheduling methods, construction cost estimating and proposal development, document management, and construction administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications is required. CoreCivic is a Drug Free Workplace & EOE - Vets/Disabled.
