Data Centers | Mechanical Construction | Industrial Services Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Flushing Superintendent to lead field operations for mechanical flushing, temporary pumping, filtration, water treatment, hydrostatic testing, and commissioning support projects. This position will oversee field crews, equipment, safety, scheduling, and execution while coordinating with general contractors, mechanical contractors, commissioning teams, and project management. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical or industrial piping background with hands-on knowledge of hydronic systems and field leadership experience. Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily mechanical flushing and commissioning-support operations.
- Lead field crews, foremen, operators, and subcontractors.
- Plan and execute flushing of chilled water, condenser water, heating hot water, process piping, and boiler systems .
- Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and flushing procedures.
- Establish flushing sequences, system isolation points, and flushing zones.
- Coordinate temporary pumps, hoses, filtration equipment, tanks, meters, and water treatment systems.
- Monitor flow rates, velocities, pressures, filtration performance, and system conditions.
- Coordinate system filling, flushing, draining, chemical cleaning, testing, and turnover.
- Manage water supply, temporary power, wastewater handling, and disposal requirements.
- Conduct safety meetings, JHAs, and pre-task planning.
- Coordinate field activities with contractors, commissioning teams, and other trades.
- Identify field conflicts, schedule impacts, and out-of-scope work.
- Maintain daily reports, flushing records, equipment logs, and project documentation. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of mechanical construction, industrial piping, mechanical flushing, or related field experience.
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, General Foreman, Foreman, or similar field leader .
- Strong knowledge of commercial or industrial mechanical piping systems.
- Working knowledge of chilled water, condenser water, heating hot water, and process piping .
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and construction documents.
- Understanding of piping system filling, flushing, draining, testing, and commissioning .
- Experience supervising field crews and coordinating daily construction activities.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, safety, communication, and leadership skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the United States. Preferred Qualifications
- Direct mechanical flushing or hydronic system cleaning experience.
- Data center, mission-critical, or large industrial construction experience.
- Experience with temporary pumping and filtration systems .
- Knowledge of pipe diameter, flow rate, flushing velocity, pressure, and pump performance.
- Experience with chemical cleaning and water treatment.
- Hydrostatic testing or boiler flushing experience.
- Mechanical commissioning and startup experience.
- Experience with large-diameter hydronic piping.
- Familiarity with Procore, Autodesk Build, or similar construction management software.
