POSITION SUMMARY

The Mid-Level MEP Coordinator supports the coordination and execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for large-scale construction projects. This position is responsible for coordinating assigned MEP systems or project areas, identifying and resolving coordination issues, monitoring installation progress, and working with project teams and trade partners to support successful project completion. The position requires a working knowledge of MEP construction, the ability to read and interpret construction documents, and the ability to independently manage assigned coordination responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate assigned mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with project teams, subcontractors, and other trades. Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and coordinated models for constructability and alignment with project requirements. Identify MEP conflicts and work with appropriate team members and trade partners to resolve coordination issues. Participate in and as assigned, lead MEP coordination meetings for designated systems or project areas. Track RFIs, submittals, coordination items, and other assigned project documentation through resolution. Monitor installation activities to confirm work is consistent with coordinated drawings and approved submittals. Conduct field observations and document installation issues, deviations, and required corrective actions. Assist with equipment layout and coordination, including required access, clearances, and interfaces with architectural and structural components. Coordinate trade sequencing, equipment placement, sleeves, embeds, hangers, and related installation requirements. Monitor assigned MEP activities against the project schedule and communicate potential delays or concerns to project leadership. Support tracking of long-lead equipment and materials as they relate to project installation schedules. Assist with quality assurance/quality control activities, inspections, punch-list completion, testing, and commissioning. Maintain accurate project records and communicate the status of assigned coordination items to project leadership. Perform other related duties as assigned based on project needs.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on project assignment, responsibilities may include coordination of: Electrical Systems Electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, busway, and feeder routing. UPS systems, battery systems, PDUs, RPPs, transfer switches, generators, and related critical and standby power systems. Grounding, raceway, cable tray, conduit, duct banks, and electrical equipment clearances. Low-voltage systems and controls, including fire alarm, BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and structured cabling pathways. Mechanical and Plumbing Systems Chilled-water distribution, pumps, and associated mechanical equipment.

units, fan walls, containment systems, and related airflow components. Condensate, makeup water, domestic water, sanitary, and fuel piping. Fire-protection systems and associated interfaces.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant trade or construction experience may be considered. Three to five years of MEP coordination or related commercial construction experience preferred. Mission-critical or data center construction experience is preferred but not required. Experience coordinating construction activities across multiple trades is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction systems. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, panel schedules, and P&IDs applicable to assigned responsibilities. General working knowledge of applicable construction codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IMC, and IPC requirements relevant to the position. Ability to identify construction coordination issues and work collaboratively toward resolution. Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively with project leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders. Working knowledge of Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revit, BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, or comparable construction management and coordination software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position primarily works on an active construction site and may require regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, heat, dust, noise, construction equipment, and other conditions typically associated with commercial construction. The employee must be able to: Regularly walk and stand for extended periods on an active construction site. Navigate uneven surfaces and construction areas. Climb stairs and ladders as required to access work areas. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Occasionally lift and/or carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Perform site observations in varying environmental conditions. SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, on-site position. Work schedules may vary based on project requirements. Occasional extended hours, evenings, or weekends may be required during critical project milestones.

Pay:

$95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
