- Posted on September 9, 2026 Published By Taylor Sorensen Trillium Construction is hiring for a direct-hire Substation Superintendent to oversee the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical substations out of Beaumont, TX!
Salary:
$100,000- 140,000, depending on experience What You'll Do Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise foremen, journeyman/apprentice electricians, and crew members on substation construction or maintenance projects
- Assign daily tasks, manage crew schedules, and coordinate multiple crews across one or more job sites
- Train, mentor, and evaluate field personnel
- Enforce discipline, performance standards, and company expectations Project & Technical Oversight
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of substation equipment, including transformers, breakers, switchgear, bus work, and control systems
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and construction specifications
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and utility/client representatives on project execution
- Track project progress against schedule and budget and report status to project management
- Oversee both Greenfield and Brownfield substation projects Safety
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc-flash protection, and PPE compliance
- Conduct or oversee job briefings, safety meetings, and site inspections
- Investigate incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions
- Maintain a strong zero-incident safety culture on site Materials & Equipment
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and tool/vehicle maintenance
- Manage inventory and minimize waste or downtime caused by material or equipment shortages Administrative
- Complete daily reports, timesheets, safety documentation, and quality control records

- 5-10+ years of experience in high-voltage substation construction and/or maintenance
- Prior experience as a Foreman, Lead, or Superintendent in substation construction
- Demonstrated experience working with substation equipment up to 500kV
- Experience with both Greenfield and Brownfield substation projects preferred Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, substation equipment, and testing procedures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, and electrical drawings
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Proficiency with scheduling and reporting tools/software
- Ability to coordinate crews, materials, equipment, and project activities in a fast-paced field environment Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
