DFW This role delivers structured chess instruction across schools and company sites, supports program quality, and refines curriculum. It also supervises camp activities, helps run USCF/FIDE-rated tournaments, manages tournament logistics, and ensures fair play. Additional responsibilities include customer service, recordkeeping, assisting families, overseeing daily site operations, mentoring staff, managing memberships, and representing the organization through strong client-facing service. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality chess instruction using our curriculum at company sites and affiliated school locations; support program quality through feedback and lesson refinement. Facilitate and supervise engaging chess activities during seasonal camps and open play. Provide individualized instruction to private lesson students and contribute to the development of training approaches for high-performing players. Adapt fluidly to dynamic scheduling demands, including school programming, offsite tournament support, and multi-location transitions. Greet and assist students, parents, and visitors, providing clear and friendly information about our programs. Support basic office tasks, including organizing supplies, maintaining inventory, and keeping workspaces neat and organized. Exercise discretion in handling customer escalations, ensuring appropriate service recovery aligned with company policies. Oversee membership services, including onboarding, renewals, registrations, cancellations, and service adjustments. Represent the company's leadership in delivering high-quality, client-facing experiences. Serve as the acting on-site supervisor when the Location Supervisor is off-site, unavailable, or during designated times. Serve as Chief Tournament Director (or Assistant) for USCF- and FIDE-rated tournaments, overseeing all compliance, staff coordination, and real-time adjudication. Qualifications Experience working with school-aged children is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a dynamic environment. Friendly, customer-focused attitude and strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of chess is helpful but not required — training is provided. High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant coursework or certifications are a bonus.
