Job Description

Firm Summary Transet Company ("Transet") is a Longview-based contracting firm offering general contracting, construction management, and design/build services. A leader in the East Texas construction industry since 1982, markets include commercial, healthcare, industrial, institutional, religious, higher education, and K-12 schools. Transet is driven by its goal of providing quality construction management services to a select client base while also providing a desirable work environment for its employees. Transet is currently seeking a Project Superintendent for projects in the northeast Texas area. This position is based out of our Longview, TX office, which services commercial & industrial construction projects within approximately a 90-mile radius. The Role The primary responsibility of the candidate shall be to ensure that projects are run safely, profitably, and on schedule, with specific duties and responsibilities including the following: Oversee entire construction process from mobilization through close out Interpret plans and specifications for assigned projects Arrive at meetings on time and prepared to participate, including pre-construction and post-construction meetings Coordinate with the Project Manager during submittals phase to schedule subcontractors, equipment, and materials deliveries to maintain project schedule and budget Permit supervision; including scheduling inspections and meeting with inspectors on-site Interact positively and collaboratively with the Owner and Architect Daily field management of the performance of subcontractors to project specifications Maintain a clean and safe jobsite, including regular site reviews and safety meetings Implementation and enforcement of site-specific Safety Plans Proactively solve problems prior to adverse impact to project Daily field reports Project close-out (punch list, occupancy, and final acceptance) Success Factors At least 2+ years of experience with commercial and/or industrial construction projects in the $1MM+ range Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent work experience Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint reading Safety training (e.g., OSHA 10 or 30, East Texas Safety Council) is a plus Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills Demonstrated leadership ability is essential Basic computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel required; skills in MS Project, Procore, and other project management software is a plus Must be able to pass a background check and drug test Must be able to handle typical physical responsibilities of a Commercial Superintendent on ground up/multi-story projects such as uneven site conditions, climbing stairs, and dealing with varying weather conditions When necessary, operate equipment or other job-related tasks in times of shortage and/or when project deadlines are in jeopardy Compensation
