- health, dental, vision, life insurance after 3 months About Us Grossman Design Build is a family-owned Mansfield-based design-build firm specializing in ground-up municipal construction for Emergency Services Districts (ESDs) and municipalities across Texas.
Because we handle design and construction under one roof, our field teams get answers fast — when something comes up in the field, the people who drew it are in the same building. The Role We're hiring a Site Superintendent to run day-to-day field operations on fire station projects. You're our person on the ground from mobilization through closeout — the one the subs, the inspectors, and the customer look to every day. You won't be doing it alone. Your Project Manager is onsite weekly, and ownership walks the job every other week. This is a strong fit for an assistant superintendent ready to run their own project, or a super from residential or light commercial looking to move into public work. What You'll Do Be onsite daily for the duration of the project Open and close the project site each day Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, and hold them accountable to the schedule Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, and maintain bid records Serve as the primary onsite contact for the customer, inspectors, and design team Keep daily logs, progress photos, and safety sign-in sheets current Take and distribute meeting notes and minutes Maintain field documentation — marking up plans for as-builts as changes happen, and supporting the PM on RFIs and submittals Run and document jobsite safety Walk the job for quality, manage punch lists, and drive closeout What Were Looking For Field experience on ground-up commercial or residential construction (assistant superintendent, foreman, or lead carpenter experience counts) Able to read and markup construction drawings Comfortable directing subcontractors and holding a schedule Organized and consistent with documentation, good communication Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the jobsite Willing and able to be onsite every workday Nice to have: OSHA 30, valid to work in USA, prior municipal or public-bid work, experience with project management software, basic Microsoft 365 skills, and strong email writing. - 6,000 project completion bonus, based on project performance.
