Rehabilitation Coordinator (Home Repairs and Construction) Affordable Homes of South Texas Inc - 3.8 McAllen, TX Job Details Full-time $13 an hour 4 days ago Qualifications Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook High school diploma or GED Driver's License Full Job Description Job Title Rehabilitation Coordinator (Home Repairs and Construction) Summary The Rehab Coordinator plans and executes applications for home rehabilitation and new construction projects through grants and/or loan programs approved by Affordable Homes of South Texas, Inc. The Rehab Coordinator also collaborates with the McAllen & Non-McAllen Coordinators to manage rehab activities such as communicating with vendors, monitoring budget spending, and partnering with other departments. Key Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Inform clients about the home rehabilitation and new construction grants and/or loan programs. Request environmental, survey, and elevation certificates to ensure compliance with applicable laws and program guidelines. Prepare work scopes for bids on homes under rehabilitation and new construction projects based on the home inspection and identified repairs needed. Manage the end-to-end application process to ensure program compliance and the closing of qualified grants and/or loans. Provide documentation requested by Homebuyer Development, Legal, Compliance, and Lending departments. Respond to customer call backs and concerns. Request title commitment, tax service, and Hidalgo CAD records from customers to verify ownership and legal compliance. Perform inspections on a weekly basis as required by projects. Manage service repair calls and create work scopes for the old "New Beginnings" lease program. Prepare demolition and building permits with local cities. Complete material selection for new home construction customers under the Rehab department. Conduct administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings, drafting invoices, and drawing estimates, tracking, and reporting project progress. Assign lead applicants through the corresponding McAllen and Non-McAllen coordinators. Assist in the preparation of demolition and building permits for each city. Facilitate bid walkthroughs with construction contractors to ensure accurate project estimates and timelines. Edit and prepare site plans for submission to city departments. Communicate consistently with residents, contractors, and city officials to ensure smooth project execution. Produce quarterly reports for submission to the city, including narrative summaries of expenditures, project progress, and client activity Prepare internal pipeline reports for presentation during departmental meetings. Cover the front desk area when the Construction Services Coordinator is unavailable. Assist the Construction Department as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Required Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent from an accredited institution. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Valid, current, and non-restricted Texas Driver's License required. Preferred Qualifications Associate Degree in Construction or related field. 1or more years of experience in home construction. Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general documents, and government regulations. Experience with Adobe, REVVER, and CRM software. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here outline the requirements an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While carrying out job duties, the employee must regularly communicate verbally and listen. Frequent physical activities include standing, walking, using hands for handling or manipulating objects, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee will also be frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including rain, heat, and humidity. The work environment typically has a high level of noise. Additionally, the employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently. Expected Work Hours Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the organization's core work hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A minimum of 40 hours per week is expected. Travel This position may require occasional travel outside the area for training. Employees may also be required to drive up to 100 miles round trip in a company vehicle in a single day. Work Authorization None required.
