2989937244-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Knife River is seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to lead construction projects from bid through completion. In this role, you will prepare detailed estimates, analyze plans and specifications, develop competitive proposals, and manage project budgets, schedules, and subcontractors. You will coordinate field teams, monitor work progress, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality workmanship on infrastructure and commercial projects. The position requires strong communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams, careful documentation, and the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced, safety-focused construction environment while supporting continuous improvement and team development. Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive bids for construction projects Review plans, specifications, and addenda to identify scope, risks, and opportunities Manage projects from award through closeout, including budgets, schedules, and resources Coordinate with field supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely, quality work Enforce Knife River's safety standards and support a strong safety culture on all job sites Monitor project costs, track change orders, and maintain accurate project documentation Communicate regularly with clients, engineers, and internal teams regarding project status Assist with forecasting, reporting, and continuous improvement of estimating and project controls Required Skills Construction project management Cost estimating Blueprint and specification reading Scheduling (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) Budgeting and cost control Contract administration Subcontractor and vendor management Quantity takeoffs Change order management Safety and OSHA compliance
