This includes:
Manage OSP footprint buildouts and smaller projects i.e., new subdivisions and HOA's. OSP footprint buildouts and smaller projects Add new projects to Smartsheets for tracking and/or other tracking programs Review construction drawings from engineering companies. Check drawings for errors and make redline notes for correction. Review drawings after corrections have been made Release projects to contractors for construction and set timeline expectations Review daily crew locations and monitor project progress Discuss with contractors, obstacles found in the field and find solutions Review change requests Coordinate with the engineering department for approval of change in plans Manage and direct construction inspectors New Subdivision Management o Add new subdivision to Smartsheets for tracking o Coordinate with builders, developers, and excavators o Obtain and review power plans o Create conduit layouts from power plans o Create cost estimates for conduit placement o Request job #'s from the finance department o Request DCID maps from the engineering department o Coordinate with the engineering dept. to create cable and splicing plans o Release projects to contractors for construction when the open trench date is determined and when the subdivision is ready for vaults cable and splicing Manage and direct construction inspectors Facilitate weekly construction meetings with contractors Review and approve invoices from contractors. Competitive/Full benefits package Minimum Requirements Requires Bachelor's degree or 5+ years working in the telecommunications industry Prefer minimum 3 year's experience working directly with fiber optic projects Working knowledge with minimum 3+ years direct experience as a OSP Construction Project Manager Selection Factors Knowledge of fiber to the premise (FTTX) construction and design Knowledge of telecommunication industry standards Racking network equipment and fiber termination panels Experience with construction methods running fiber optic cable in outside facilities Experience with ticketing systems, chat and text systems, email systems, Microsoft Word and Excel or Google docs, etc. Customer service skills Strong documentation skills Effective communication both verbally and written Understanding of ROW utility layout, utility features and markings Reading and drafting profiles Pole loading and aerial design Underground fiber design Utility research Knowledge of UT-DOT utility construction standards, i.e. min depth of cover, separation standards, etc., a plus.
